FCOC Officer Vacancy

Due to some long term family health issues, Barbara Knutson has found it necessary to resign her position as FCOC Secretary effective April 28, 2010. While her resignation was anticipated, the timing was not. Because the position of Secretary plays such an important part within our organization, the Executive Board is requesting that any member interested in becoming FCOC Secretary, to submit your name and qualifications for the position to president@freightlinerchassisownersclub.org no later than June 18, 2010.

Primary responsibilities of the FCOC Secretary are as follows:

Record the minutes of all Chapter meetings and have them published in the next Freightliner Flyer Newsletter.
Document all Business and Executive Board meeting as part of the Chapter's official records. These records should be both paper and electronic files and should be made available, all or in part, to all Chapter members, upon request.
Prepare meeting agendas with assistance of the President.
Provide each newly elected Chapter officer with the Chapter Bylaws, Standing Rules and electronic files of FMCA Members and Volunteer Handbook.

The individual selected by the Executive Board as Secretary will be appointed Acting Secretary until confirmation by vote of the membership. A benefit of the Secretary position is partial reimbursement for travel associated with authorized FMCA/FCOC functions.

The next FCOC National rally is scheduled for August 15th to 19th 2010 at River Bend RV Resort in Harrisburg, OR.

Summary of Freightliner Custom Chassis Safety Recalls

FL - 530 XC Chassis equipped with SAF-Holland rear axels - Improper weld on transverse beam
FL - 521 XC-R Chassis - Air Disc Brakes incorrect bolt
FL - 517 Power Steering Filter - possible line rupture, loss of power steering assist.
FL - 509 ZF-IFS 8018 Steering Gears - Certain vehicles equipped with ZF-IFS model 8018 steering gears may have been assembled with the incorrect recirculating ball spacer. May result in loss of steering.
FL - 504 Bendix SR-7 air supply check valve failure
FL - 501 Incorrectly tightened steering arm fasteners may fatigue and fracture which could cause a crash without warning.
FL - 483A Tie Rods too short may separate and cause crash
FL - 467 XC Chassis - AAC Front Axle I-Beam - A forging defect in the top flange
FL - 460 XC Chassis - ArvinMeritor Rear Axle Spindles - possible flaw in spindles

Chrysler Rewards Program
